Planes
Aces High Fighter Performance

This the one that started it all here. With help I got "DOktor Gonzo" fighter comparison page working again. You can compare up to 4 planes at a time in a number of things like climb, speed and so on.

Soda's Aircraft Evaluation Pages

After a bit of digging I put together Soda's page. Here you'll find many of the planes in Aces High with write ups on how best to fight WITH them, and fight AGAINST them.

Turn Radius Plotter

Working with AI I added this plotter. Select a plane, add how much flaps, and it will generate an 8 second arc of the sustained turn of up to 5 planes at a time.

"Fugi's" gun site

Here is the site I use in all my planes. Click the picture below to get a copy and drop it in "C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High III\settings\sights" folder if you have the game in the default location. Then you will be able to select it from the "sites" list in game.

The circle is set to 300 for the range when a fighter fits wing tip to wing tip just in the circle.

The lines are to help line up crossing shots.

The center dot is lower than other sites to make up for bullet drop in a trailing "six" shot

Lower dot is for rockets, bombs I drop at 45% dive and just as the target passes under the cowl I release.

Gunnery

GUNNERY. The magic of getting hits on other planes! One of the first things most people have trouble with in the game is getting hits. Understanding how to aim is very important. Below are a number of publications on learning how to get hits in real life, which actually works very well in the game.

Fighter Tactics

TACTICS. Below is a text page written by "Mountainman" where he describes how he tries to "trap" a player into a position where he can shoot him down.

Also, here is an old write up by "DREX". He explains an engagement where an energy fighter (P38) bounces a turner (Spit). While its old, it still holds up.

"Fighter Tactics"
A BBS link to a fighter training page called "Which way do I turn?" A write-up by "dtango", one of the best pony drivers to play the game. The original was posted to his squad 412th, and describes how to fight and decide which type of fighting your doing "Nose to Nose" fighting or "Nose to Tail" circle fighting.

A write-up on the P47s called "P-47 Guide" written by "fyvsix". It was written a while back but the information is still good.

WEP Setting (War Emergency Power)

This page was made up by "Lusche". It is all the WEP (War Emergence Power) settings for all the planes that can use WEP. Thanks "Kenai" for finding and sending it to me.

Fighter Tactics: Below two write up from a long time ago that still hold true. Clicking the link will download a DOC file.
